Abstract

ABSTRACT
Mental demand dominated more than physical demand in the development of technology. Collaboration between cyber and automatic technology in the era of Industry 4.0 required worker to interact with computers to handle their job. Visual Display Terminal (VDT) has been used in the Central Control Room of one of the cement industries in Indonesia. CCR operators work in particular room and are responsible for supervising, monitoring, operating machinery and equipment, communicating deviations and writing a logbook of operating quantities every hour. This job requires a high level of alertness. Therefore, measuring mental workload, work stress, work fatigue, and situation awareness is necessary. The relationship between variables was tested using path analysis. The results showed that mental workload and work stress positively correlate with fatigue. Mental workload has a positive relationship with situation awareness. Job stress and work fatigue do not have a positive relationship to situation awareness. Install and activate a signal or alarm to indicate the critical phase of the operator were recommended to increase situation awareness.
